Can this plot be refined?
A curious Child from a safe, trouble-free World, discovers a portal to Another World in the shadows of her own home.
While her Mother is absorbed watching TV, the Child dares to sail into the shadows to visit the Other World, prompted by a mysterious Child on the other side.
Upon visiting World B, she realizes it’s a mirrored version of her own World. The other Child is a mirrored version of her as well.
However, all elements of safety and peace have been stripped away in this World. The Child has never felt more afraid.
She quickly becomes friends with the Other Child, by exchanging two small personal objects.
Her new friend, confident and caring, invites the Child to play in the destroyed cityscape. Ruins become their Playground.
However, a constant threat of drones and bombs looms over their heads.
As they build kites by mending torn flags, a horrible event scares the Children.
The Child from the Other World instinctively tries to Hide, but the Child from the safe World tries to Run.
Panicked, she trips over onto a shadow on the ground, and accidentally returns back to her safe World.
After a split second of relief, she realizes that she needs to reunite with her friend from the Other World.
She tries to explain the events to her Mother and asks for her help, but the Mother insists that it’s time for bed.
She throws a tantrum in her attempt to turn the TV back on, which ends with her breaking the remote and the TV as she cries a deafening, desperate cry.
Shadows and sounds from the Other World fill their Home, until all of them are entirely engulfed by a void.
The two Children reunite in the void, flying the kite they built in the Other World.
They are witnessed by the Mother.
Soon their kite is joined by thousands of other mended kites, of all colors.
The kites fill the sky entirely.
