Review this bio:
Uncharted Limbo is an award-winning collective of Creative Coders and New Media Artists crafting computational magic at the intersection of Science, Technology & Performing Arts.
Inspired by natural phenomena, biological systems, the dynamics of the Human Body and the societal implications of technology, the collective harness advances in Computer Graphics, Visual Effects and Software Engineering to build immersive worlds where digital matter and artificial life forms meet human presence.
Their craft is rooted in the Greek word “Technē”: powerful art cannot exist without exquisite technique. They design their own algorithmic and visual tools, letting them shape their ideas as much as their artistic vision pushes technology forward.
Through collaborations with composers, choreographers, theatre & film directors and scientists, their works span multiple scales and artistic fields - responsive visuals for live performances, music videos, experimental animated films, VR experiences, interactive exhibitions, and full-dome shows.
Their projects have been featured in prestigious institutions and festivals worldwide, including BFI Film Festival, London College of Fashion, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Victoria & Albert Museum, SAT Montreal, Onassis Stegi Theatre and the Arte European Culture TV channel. Recipients of the S+T+ARTS AIR European grant, they are actively exploring the nexus of Performing Arts and Artificial Neural Networks.
In 2024, Uncharted Limbo emerged as pioneers with Spreadbeats — the first and only music video entirely coded and experienced in Excel, that earned them the prestigious Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Digital Craft, the ADC Black Cube (Best of Show), a D&AD Black Pencil, a Grand Clio, and Best of Show at The One Show, among several other Grand Prix awards (LIA, Ciclope, AdAge, Drum).
